  • 11738793 We have owned the car for nearly 2 years and the rear cross traffic alert has never worked, even when cars and pedestrians are walking behind the vehicle. BMW says nothing is wrong. Many other drivers report the exact same issue with their BMW
  • 11642644 We have owned the car for nearly a year and the rear cross traffic warning simply does not work. It gives no alerts when backing out of a space and either cars or pedestrians are crossing behind. Totally unsafe

  • 11614710 I am a new owner of a BMW X1. The design of the 2024 vehicle is problematic. I also own a 2022 BMW X3, that car is fine. This X1 has an infotainment system much like a Tesla and it creates a distracted driving situation
  • 11600670 The BMW 2024 X1 comes with the new iDrive9 that has eliminated most of the physical controls. Now there is a large touch screen that controls the radio, HVAC, Apple Car Play, cruise control, head lights, heated seats, etc

  • 11686592 The contact owns a 2024 BMW X1. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V104000 (Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable
  • 11653005 There is no incident as in a crash, the company (BMW) has failed to repair my vehicle or provide a fix to the brakes recall in a timely manner. When I bought the vehicle, the dealership failed to disclose that there was an open recall on this vehicle
  • 11617638 Please refer to NHTSA recall 24V104. BMW (and NHTSA) have known about this safety issue for 7 months or more. Yet, BMW has done absolutely nothing to resolve the problem

  • 11727462 On 2/25/26, in rush hour traffic we were driving on a NJ highway. We happened to be in the left-most of 3 lanes with a concrete divider (no shoulder – there was about 3 ft between the concrete divider and the left side of the left lane)
  • 11624037 I was in a low speed front end collision on Oct. 10th. I was unable to stop despite stamping on the breaks. A week after the accident I received a letter from BMW informing me of a recall for the integrated brake module with no remedy available
  • 11618129 The contact owns a 2024 BMW X1. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the brake pedal had traveled to the floorboard

  • 11606349 The auto start software will turn the engine off when the car is still rolling. I can be rolling 2-4 MPH and the engine will just turn off. There’s a huge delay after the engine restarts for power to continue. There is no way to permanently turn off this feature
  • 11577781 The auto start/stop on this car is super slow and will turn off the engine before the car comes to a complete stop. It causes confusion at intersections because of the slow getaway and has nearly caused several collisions

Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.Dealers will replace the integrated brake system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between June and December 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or Rolls Royce customer service at 1-877-877-3735.

Please refer to the recall report for the complete list of models. The welds in the servomotor of the integrated brake control module may break, causing a loss of power brake assist and rear brake function. In addition, the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system may not function.A loss of brake power assist or rear brake function can result in extended stopping distance. A loss of ABS or DSC can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.Dealers will replace the integrated brake system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 13, 2024. Owners can contact BMW Customer Service at 1-800-525-7417.

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning August 21, 2026. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 24V739 or 24V104 will need to have the new remedy completed.
