  • 11682123 While driving my 2025 Acura RDX A-Spec Advance (approx. 5,000 miles) at about 40 mph through a light curve, the vehicle suddenly lost power steering mid-turn. The dash displayed: “Electric Power Steering System Problem. Steering Assist Not Available. Do Not Drive.”

The software for the electric power steering (EPS) assist may not be calibrated properly, which can cause the EPS system to enter a failsafe mode, resulting in a loss of power steering assist.A loss of power steering assist can require greater steering effort, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.Dealers will reprogram the EPS software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 20, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is GMS. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 11, 2025.
