  • 11664764 2024 GMC DENALI HD with approx. 12, 500 miles: The truck is constantly going into limp mode. Driving down the road, first it feels like the wheels lock up with a loud noise. Immediately goes into limp mode and check engine light comes on. Took it to the dealer yesterday 6/3/25…
  • 11676630 Code P0777 – "Pressure Control Solenoid 'B' Stuck On" – Reduced Propulsion / Reduced Engine Power Initiated While merging onto the interstate, this code triggered a reduction in engine power, limiting my speed to 35 mph on a highway with a posted limit between 40-70 mph.
Integrated trailer brake controller intermittent disconnectionELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL14 complaints2023-07 → 2026-05sierra2500-2024-trailer-brake-module
  • 11551398 When I connect my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD to my camping trailer that has a solar panel and solar charge controller, it causes the factory-installed brake controller inside the truck to malfunction. The trailer brakes connect and disconnect 4 times a minute sending alerts to my dashboard. This is dangerous.
  • 11737376 Intermittent trailer disconnect and loss of electric trailer brake output while towing Airstream. The truck is connected to the trailer through the seven Way plug. There are no modifications to the truck. This is a safety hazard as I pull a 9000+ lb trailer.
Tailgate unintended opening while parked or in motionSTRUCTURE:BODY, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM11 complaints2023-08 → 2026-06sierra2500-2024-tailgate-unintended-open
  • 11584890 The contact stated while driving approximately 45–50 MPH in the rain, the tail gate opened unintendedly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that cargo in the bed of the truck fell out onto the roadway. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000…
  • 11600504 I drove from California to ohio after I bought the truck, I noticed that when stopping to get gas my tailgate was open without me touching it. I drove with cameras showing the truck bed to see what happened and I watched it do it again while driving the vehicle, it just opened on its own while driving.
  • 11661778 My tailgate opens on its own. This sometimes happens when I am driving down the road. This is a safety risk because if I am hauling something in the back, and the tailgate drops down, there is a chance the load could fall out of the truck and harm another vehicle or person that is behind my truck.
Forward collision system uncommanded braking eventsFORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS3 complaints2026-02 → 2026-06sierra2500-2024-forward-collision-false-brake
  • 11742824 Unexpected braking at highway speeds. This has at least 50 times at highway speeds. The truck has experienced repeated false Forward Collision Alerts and un-commanded Automatic Emergency Braking events. Adaptive Cruise Control frequently detects roadside objects and vehicles in adjacent lanes, particularly on curves.
  • 11717814 On 3 separate instances the past few months the truck slammed on brakes for no apparent reason. And 2 separate times the past week or so the truck suddenly and uncontrollably accelerated — first at gas a station convenience store and almost ran over old lady, secondly while waiting line on arterial entrance ramp!
IOK radio module failure and total audio lossELECTRICAL SYSTEM4 complaints2025-05 → 2026-04sierra2500-2024-iok-radio-audio-loss
  • 11734423 IOK Radio Module failing. Would happen 10 times in less than 5 miles. Vehicle has been seen 3 times before diagnosing as IOK Radio Module failure. Inhibits hands free calling, total loss of all audio including safety chimes, dropped emergency call capability, multiple software updates have failed to resolve it.
  • 11681939 Loss of audio throughout an entire drive/ignition cycle. This includes the loss of the blinker click/clack audio when the blinker is on. When the loss of audio issue occurs, the driver has no audio input indicating a blinker is on even though the actual blinker is flashing to other drivers.
Tire tread separation and blowout at highway speedsTIRES4 complaints2025-03 → 2026-08sierra2500-2024-tire-tread-blowout
  • 11692306 DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 55 ON A PAVED ROAD, NO WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE EXPLODED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE TRUCK SLID ACROSS THE ROAD INTO THE OTHER LANE. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS COMING IN THE OTHER LANE AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL.
  • 11755376 Tires only had 50k miles on them when they were rated for 80k miles: the front driver side Ttire ruptured while on major hwy in texas. No signs of air loss and the road was clear of any debris. Steering started to lightly shake and eventually came to a violent shake, then the front driver tire ruptured.
Engine oil cooler failure and coolant contaminationENGINE3 complaints2026-02 → 2026-03sierra2500-2024-engine-oil-cooler-failure
  • 11724478 Oil cooler blew and mixed oil in coolant reservoir. Possibly causes overheating and engine seizure. This has been confirmed with a certified GM service center. The service center inspected fixed it then within 5 miles had to be returned to the dealer because it happened again.
  • 11717560 I own a 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 2500HD diesel that has been out of service for 52 days due to an oil cooler / service bulletin related failure. The vehicle is under warranty. The required replacement part is on national backorder and, as of today, has not shipped.
