11585394 Front collision sensors and lane keeping sensor do not work in direct sunlight. For 2 hours in the morning and two hours at dusk. Sensors are behind rear view mirror and they do not work when sun is at eye level.
11589119 Forward collision detection doesn't work. Very rarely screen shows a pop up, but never applies automatic brakes. Especially when we were in traffic and if vehicle infrant suddenly stops. ..then it doesn't detect the forward stopped objects and fail to apply breaks
11559294 When in heavy fog, rain, direct light to cameras or sensor the safety features become unavailable. As soon as any of the above goes away they come back. This in my opinion becomes more of a risk driving these vehicles if the safety systems do not function properly.

11618226 When regenerative braking is active brake lights do not turn on causing vehicles behind you to come extremely close. The vehicle has extremely strong regenerative breaking. That should activate the brake lights.

11697753 The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V559000 (LANE DEPARTURE). The contact stated that while making a turn, the vehicle jerked, and the steering wheel unexpectedly became difficult to turn. In addition, the vehicle made wide turns. No warning lights were illuminated.
VinFast Auto, LLC (VinFast) is recalling certain 2023-2025 VF8 vehicles. The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) may activate during wide turns, causing unexpected steering wheel movements that are difficult for the driver to override.
A steering wheel that moves unexpectedly may increase the risk of a crash.
VinFast will update the ADAS software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2025. Owners may contact VinFast customer service at 1-833-503-0600.
On September 10, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation (PE) 24025 to assess allegations of lane departures with the Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system engaged in Model Year (MY) 2023 through 2024 VinFast VF8 vehicles. The reports further alleged that the system exhibited difficulty detecting lanes on the roadway and, under certain conditions, provided improper steering inputs that resulted in an inconsistent control effort required by the driver, potentially elevating the risk of a crash or injury.
